Mikel Laboa (Donostia 1934 - 2009) began singing in the early 1960’s and is a pioneer of our most iconic folk songs. He possessed an irrepressible curiosity about events, traditions, rituals, poetry and songs that made their way into his music as attractive symbols. He, himself, is already a symbol, a beloved part of our popular memory.

This album is his first live recording (1997) and contains a fine selection of his most poetic works. "Lili bat" (a fl ower) is Joseba Sarrionandia’s poem, and this became one of the most successful of Laboa’s songs.
